Save the Prairie Society is committed to protect and preserve imperiled natural areas and threatened and endangered species in Illinois.

As a statewide conservation organization we acquire land, restore native ecosystems and promote the value of original landscapes as resources for environmental learning, citizen science activities, birdwatching, photography and other artistic and creative expression. We promote low impact uses which educate the public and preserve the biodiversity of Illinois.

The Natural Areas Rescue Fund identifies natural areas threatened with development, agriculture or timbering and seeks to pre-acquire and secure them. NARF is an advocate for high quality natural area acquisition by public agencies such as the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
