What is a wetland?
A wetland is any area that tends to be regularly wet or a lowland area that is saturated with moisture such as a swamp or marsh. A marsh is a wetland with standing fresh water for prolonged periods throughout the growing season. These saturated soils are suited only to specifically adapted plants.
