Seasons of the Prairie

Summer
The prairie grows lush in summer and by mid-July most plants are about 3 to 4 feet high. Flower colors are vivid and bright. Butterflies and bees are attracted to the blossoms of yellow coneflower, purple prairie milkweed, prairie lily, prairie dock, compass plant, blazing star, Culver's root, wild bergamot, rattlesnake master, spiderwort and prairie rose.
