Outcomes

Control of exotic plants enhances the water purification capacity of Harrier Marsh, reduces erosion, slows stormwater flow, increases infiltration rates and revitalizes native species populations. Removal of trees and shrubs allows for better ecosystem management, increases habitat for wetland dependent species, encourages migratory waterfowl and other birds to use the wetland for stopovers or nesting and further enhances ecosystem function of the wetland.
