This project of Save the Prairie Society was funded in part by a two year grant (January 2002 - January 2004) from The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency through Section 319 of The Clean Water Act. The Northeastern Illinois Planning Commission provided technical project oversight. The grant benefits the Wolf Road Prairie Nature Preserve wetland, stream corridor and adjacent buffer areas. Wolf Road Prairie and upstream bufferlands are owned by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources and the Forest Preserve District of Cook County with dedicated buffer to the preserve owned by Save the Prairie Society. The Illinois Nature Preserves Commission oversees management and protection of the site.
